Junior Blauwkamp

Junior "Bud" Blauwkamp, 89, of Zeeland, was escorted into glory by his Savior Monday, 15, 2015.

Bud was born in Borculo on December 27, 1925 to Joe and Jennie (Luurtsema) Blauwkamp. Junior married Genevieve Gruppen on May 3, 1949. Bud worked at Royal Casket and retired from Mead-Johnson. For several years he was also the custodian for Borculo Christian School Bud and Genevieve were lifelong Borculo residents and members of Borculo Christian Reformed Church. Bud served as an elder, deacon, and Sunday school teacher. In March of 2015, Genevieve, preceded him in death after 66 years of marriage . He is survived by his children: Paul and Nancy Blauwkamp, Phyllis and Leon Alferink, Vern and Dawn Blauwkamp; 8 grandchildren: Eric and Jami Alferink, Ross and Karin Alferink, Megan and Brian deWilde, Jill Blauwkamp, Lindsay Blauwkamp, Jordan and Jenna Blauwkamp, Stacie and Derek Wynsma, Emilie Blauwkamp; 10 great-grandchildren, sister Marjorie and Marvin Vork, in-laws: Gertrude Hassevoort, Kathryn Gruppen, Dorothy Gruppen, Marie Blauwkamp, Gladys Blauwkamp, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to honor the faith and life of Junior "Bud" Blauwkamp will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, June 19, 2015, at Borculo Christian Reformed Church, 6646 96th Ave., Zeeland. The Revs. Allen Petroelje and Harlan Vanden Einde will officiate. Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Thursday at Yntema Funeral Home 251 S. State Street, Zeeland. Burial will be in Borculo Cemetery.
