About Kalanikahimakaialii
See page 116 in the off-blue/cream book called Hawaiian Genealogies Extracted from Hawaiian Language Newspapers, Volume 2 by Mckinzie and Stagner, II...
"Look at this the mother of these Oahu chiefs [Kapiioho (k), Peleioholani I (k), and Kukuiaimakalani] is a Mauian, and part Kauai and Oahu; also Kualii is King of Oahu." Lptm
Point: This page was significant one day when I was on a Daughters of Hawaii tour to a well-known and respected kama'aina family's museum/home and heard sweet tales of the home's 20th century history and healing heiau in the back yard.
I knew the name of the home honored an extended ancient ohana king and chiefess of my dad's line, but I could not recall just how it did, specifically...., however distantly to my own Maui, Oahu, Kauai and Hawaii paternal lines.
The inadequacy made me tear up a bit, for not being able to share with the home's owner a fuller understanding of the great king and one of his wives' connections throughout ancient Hawaii Nei. This owner was honoring not just "a" king of Oahu, but his relations from four ancient island kingdoms....before Kamehameha I united all island Kingdoms.
You cannot take it with you. Over time the living forget about you. You become a vague memory. Such is the finite future of us all. Lptm.
