Kallie Pieterse (1960 – 2007)
Brief overview:
Kallie (47), was beaten to death with a piece of iron, on 17th November 2007, when he was overpowered by four attackers on Farm Straussfontein near Trompsburg, Free State.
Police said the workers were threatened with firearms, tied up with wire. Their cellphones were stolen. Nagel said the men took a house worker and went to the farmhouse where the farm owner Henning, was shot near his vehicle. Henning managed to get inside the house and alert his neighbours, who cordoned off the farm. "One of the men seems to have committed suicide and fell into a nearby river," Nagel said.
Nagel said police divers from Bloemfontein were at the scene to recover the body. Investigators also found a vehicle that was covered with branches on the farm.
