About Karalinna Johanna Kohlhagen
Husband Selle deserted her about 1881 and travelled with companion(s) to the Mt Browne goldfield in NW NSW where he died in early 1886.
At some stage perhaps in the 1870's, she Anglicised her name to Carolina Selle and it showed on her daughter's Birth certificate as Carolina Kohlhagen.
She remarried Martin Rahn 10.17.1888 in Horsham. They appeared to have separated in the late 1890's after which she relocated to Adelaide (early 1900's??) where she lived the remainder of her life in the Norwood area close to a number of older sisters. Rahn travelled to the WA goldfields where he seems to have made a considerable amount of money and "retired" back to Germany.
