Her father, Ole Nelson was first married to Ingeborg Andersdatter on Dec. 30, 1869. They lived in Hurdal, Akershus, Norway. Ingeborg was born March 31, 1830 in Hurdal, Akershsu, Norway and passed away May 10, 1873 Hurdal, Akershsu, Norway. They had a daughter: Karen Dorthea born April 1,1871 in Hurdal, Akershsus, Norway. Ole marry's again to Johanne Martha Andersdatter on Nov. 20, 1873. Ole spent little time before he remarried. Karen went by the name of Dora after coming to America with her family in 1883. They first came to Clermont, Fayette County, Iowa first. In 1888 the family moved to Hartland, Freeborn County, Minnesota. Dora stayed in Minnesota and her parents moved back to Iowa. Dora fell in love with Christian H. Peterson and they were married. After their daughter Mildred was born he moved to Swift Current, Canada. They were divorced after that. She and her daughter Mildred lived with her brother Elmer Nelson in Albert Lea, Minnesota for a few years. Then they moved up to St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. She was a private home house keeper. When she passed away on her death certificate, her birth date was given as April 1, 1874? It was given by her son-in-law George Thomas. So in Norway she was recorded as being born April 1, 1871 and on her death certificate it says April 1, 1874?
