I think you have it right, Karl DeVault was our Dads' cousin. Karl's mother (Myrtle Marshall DeVault) and our Dads' mother (Bertha Elizabeth Marshall Barnett) were sisters. Karl's Grandmother, Emily Frances Lang Marshal, is our great grandmother.

I think I sent you the Marshall family history the Karl compiled in 1964, "A family history and genealogy", as well as the biography of Francis Lang, "Our Veterans of the American Revolutionary War." Karl started this research because this because his mother (Myrtle) wanted to join the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). This book is the genealogy of Myrtle, and thus, exactly the same genealogy for our grandmother Bertha, who died shortly after my birth (1953).

As I recall, Karl never married and had no children.I believe Karl had a nephew who lived in Southern California, but I can't remember his name. It was not DeVault. The last known address might be in my mother's address book, which I think Jim (Jamie) may have. But I would have to turn every page to try and remember the name. The address would be at least 30 (probably 40) years out of date. It is possible the Miriam would remember the name. He would be at least 70 now.

Can Anyone tell me how Karl DeVault fits into the family tree?  Should be a simple question since he compiled all the information for the family tree.. Is he Myrtle (Marshall's) DeVault Son? Does any one have contact information for his immediate family?
