Katherine Disney

Katherine Porter (1520 – 1556)

Following William's death, the widow Katherine (Porter) Smith m. 2) Thomas Disney of Carlton-le-Moorland, who sat in the 1563 English Parliament as a member for Boroughbridge. Thomas and Katherine (Porter)(Smith) Disney had six children, five sons and one daughter.

Katherine Porter was a forceful woman, and after the death of William Smith, she married Thomas Disney of Carlton-le Moorland, who sat in the Parliament of 1563 as member for Boroughbridge.

She had borne six children to her first husband, and now had another family of equal number, five sons and a daughter, by her second.

The 'Disney's played a prominent part in Lincolnshire affairs
