State of New Jersey, County of Middlesex Township of South Amboy, March 8, 1801 Dear Kinsman this is to inform you throue the Mercy of God I am now Living the Youngest Daughter of my father Your Kinsman John Barclay is now deceased aged 84 he Lived in township of South Amboy I now Live in the same place above men No dout my friend but you recollect me as I was with my father at Trenton to Tea at the house of Joseph Whorls.
I have fore Sons and Seven Daughters now Living my first Son named John Barclay a Carpenter 2 Son David a hatter 3 Son Robert Davis a hatter 4 Son Charles Carpenter I have too Daughters that is not married the eldest of the Too is named Charlotte Sophia after the Queen of Grate Britain She Lives in the City of New York hir age is twenty one She is a Milener My husban and I being Loyalists we thought proper to name after the Queen. My youngest daughter named Hannah Lives with hir parants at home. My husband is Living he is aged 68 years I am 60 years old the 17th of this month Dear Kinsman we are all hastening to the World of Spirits
I was hapy to hear from you and your aged uncel althrough I never expect that we shall agin meate in this world it allous me a greate deal of pleasure to think we can Correspond with our kind relations at so grate distance by Letter and althrough I have chaned my yet my affections are still the Same for the family as when with my kind father at home if you right to me direct your letter to the Reverend Abraha Beach of the Episcopal Church in New York or George Barclay Philadelphia No more my kind Love and best wishes to your uncel and your self this from your affectionate friend kinswoman.
