OBITUARY Kathryn A. Nowlin - Herald-Leader, The - (Dec/2/2005) Kathryn A. Nowlin, 90, of Tahlequah, Okla., formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005. She was born May 29, 1915, in Ann Arbor, Mich., to John Stuart and Ruth Ford Stuart.
She and her first husband, Carl Hallquist, retired to Bella Vista in 1975. He preceded her in death in 1981. She married Win Nowlin in 1984. The couple moved to Go-Ye-Village in Tahlequah in 1991. He preceded her in death in 1995.
She had worked as a library secretary at Northern Natural Gas in Omaha, Neb. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, was a Brownie troop leader, and taught Sunday school and Bible school. She enjoyed gardening and volunteering at church and at Go-Ye-Village.
She was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roy Hallquist of Rockville, Md., and John Hallquist and Margaret Hallquist of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Stouffer and Ted Stouffer of Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Helen Tracy of Denver, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Leahwanna Kile and her husband Bobby Kile; and a stepson, Winfred Rock and his wife Patricia Rock.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Tahlequah with the Rev. Ron Rice.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the Bentonville Cemetery in Bentonville, Ark.
Arrangements are by Green Country Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
