Kenneth Albert Dockendorf

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park for Kenneth “Ken” A. Dockendorf, age 62, who died Friday at his home. Rev. Matt Kuhn will officiate and burial with full military honors provided by Waite Park American Legion Post 428 will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ken was born March 17, 1948 in St. Cloud to Gilbert & Erica (DeMorrett) Dockendorf. He married Susan “Sue” Welle on June 15, 1974 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park. Ken lived in the Waite Park area all his life and was owner/operator of Mechanical Systems Insulation for 30 years. He was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, The Last Man’s Club, Cold Spring American Legion Post 455 and Waite Park American Legion Post 428. He was also a member of St. Cloud State University Basketball and Football Booster Clubs and the Waite Park Park Board. Ken loved all sports.

Survivors include his wife, Sue of Waite Park; sons and daughter, Chad of Waite Park, Christie (Eric) Olson of Monticello, and Craig (Tasha Prow) of Sartell; sisters, Jan (Tim) Stein of Cold Spring, Karen (Dan) Wippler of St. Joseph, and Marlene (George Robke) of Lino Lakes; and grandchildren, Darien, Miah, Riley, Sonja, Emma, and Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Harry.
