Kenneth Hubert Cassady, Jr. was born on March 22, 1917 in Sumterville, Sumter County, Florida, son of Gertrude Cassady. He became the brother of Sallie Elizabeth, Donnel Bobbie, Elma, Fay A. and Cassady
During World War II, Kenneth was wounded with shrapnel in the back. With a rank of Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, he was awarded the Medal of Honor which is the nation’s highest military award for bravery.
In Florida, he married Janet Semple. On October 23, 1946, they became the parents of a daughter, Cheryl Ann Cassady.
On April 21, 1981 at age , Kenneth H. Cassady died in DeLand with burial in the DeLand Memorial Gardens, DeLand, Volusia County, Florida.
