Years ago, when I was at Clayton Genealogy Library (Houston) in the "family section" located in the smaller building...I found a very old, very small book that seems to have disappeared since I was there again this year. It had this in it: Son of Francis Willis III and [Lady] Ann RIch. My note: I believe this John is [Col.] [Brig. Gen.] [Rev.] John Willis, b. 11-13-1715, d. 11-19-1771. He is also listed at Brazoria Co. Museum, Brazoria Co., TX, who m. Mildred Smith, b. 1719, Shorter's Mill, Middlesex Co., VA, d. abt. 1769. Mildred Smith is the dau. of Augustine Warner Smith (1687–1756) and Sarah Carter. Children that I have listed for John WIllis + Mildred Smith: (Order not known until more info is added.) Francis Willis, b. 1-25-1745, d. 1-26-1829, GA. m. Elizabeth Edwards. (I have children and dates for them.)
