Lt.-Col. Joseph D'Arcy married Lady Catherine Georgiana West, daughter of John Richard West, 4th Earl De La Warr and Catherine Lyell, on 16 October 1817.1
He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Artillery.
They were married by special Licence at the house of the Dowager Countess De La Warr in Bath. She died after the birth of her 3rd child at the home of her mother the Dowager Countess.
