Joan de Nash, an heiress, of Nash Court, married Andrew Hawkins near Faversham, Kent, in the reign of Edward III. This is how the Hawkins became possessed of Nash Court and from whom are descended the Hawkins of Devon. Joan is not the mother of John Hawkins but John Hawkins is a descended of Joan de Nash and Andrew.
