She married Sir David Courtenay Mansel Lewis on April 15, 1953.
A keen philanthropist, Lady Mary worked in depth alongside the Red Cross and Ty Bryngwyn Hospice as she sought to make a positive impact on Llanelli and her local community.
“As a young woman, she was involved in the British Association of Youth Clubs, and then became involved with the Red Cross, something she would continue for much of her life,” Patrick continued.
“She had an OBE from her work with the Red Cross, where she was president of the Dyfed branch.
“She was also on the committee which raised money money towards the foundation of the Ty Bryngwyn Hospice, alongside Dr Mary Llewellyn Morgan.
