About Lady Thomasine Thomas
Biography
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Mildmay-13
Thomasin Mildmay was daughter of Thomas Mildmay of Chelmsford, and his wife, Anne Reade. [1] By 1541 she was the wife of Anthony Bourchier, son of Maurice Bourchier. [1]Together they had three sons and a daughter. Anthony died 13 July 1551 at the manor of Barnsley in Gloucestershire, the family home. [2]
By 1553 Thomasin was married again, to one William Thomas MP whose origins are uncertain. She bore her second husband one daughter. It was Thomasin's misfortune that her husband became involved in the plotting to prevent the Queen's Spanish marriage. He went on the run. William was captured on 20th February 1554 and committed to the Tower. He was tried at Guildhall on 9th May and on the 18th was dragged from the Tower to Tyburn where he was hanged and dismembered. His head was set on London Bridge, his quarters on Cripplegate. [3]
Queen Mary was not vindictive. On 13 December 1554 she granted Thomasin all her husband's goods and the Manor of Garway.
