Brief overview:
Letitia (51) was presumably strangled and police also suspected she was sexually assaulted. The murder took place on Tuesday, July 17 between 11:00 and 12:00 on a smallholding in Reynorif/Tasbetpark, Witbank, Mpumalanga. Laetitia's body was found by John Mathote who had purchased dog food and was going back to pay her. Sgt. Police spokesperson David Ratau initiated a wide-scale search for two men who were last seen at the scene. Police officers and respondents from South African Community Crime Watch (SACCW) scouted the area, a helicopter was also used in the search. Jacobs leaves behind her husband Andre, and four children. Her two adult children live overseas and in Port Elizabeth respectively. The two younger boys are still in primary school.
