..Dopo il 1137 la damnatio memoriae del nome Landone, che non fu mai più adoperato, è da mettere in rapporto col fatto che con un Landone si spense il bisecolare comitato di Aquino.

Landone IV, infatti, privato dei suoi possessi dall'imperatore Lotario, non riuscì a ottenere il titolo e la dignità comitale da re Ruggero II d'Altavilla, quando costui avviò, col figlio Anfuso, la conquista sistematica delle regioni settentrionali del Regno di Sicilia..

LANDO [IV] d’Aquino, son of LANDO [III] Conte d’Aquino & his [second] wife --- (-after 1114). Conte d’Aquino. A charter dated Feb 1109 records the settlement of a dispute involving Montecassino in the presence of the bishop of Aquino, with the consent of “Lando comes filius cuiusdam domini Landonis comiti de suprascripta civitate”[365]. The Chronica Mon. Casinensis records disputes at “castrum Terame” during the time of "Adenulfus, Lando et Adenulfus Aquinenses comites", in a paragraph which records other events in Aug 1108[366]. The Chronica Mon. Casinensis records that "Lando…filius Landonis comitis" captured the castle built next to “monasterio...Tirille”, recorded in a paragraph which records other events dated to 1114[367].

m ---. The name of Lando´s wife is not known. The name of Lando´s second son Rinaldo suggests that his mother was of Norman rather than Lombard origin.
