About Lark M. Rose
Lark Rose and his first wife Malinda Powers Rose are my GGG grandparents, I have been looking for Lark's grave since back in 2009 after my father passed away & so shortly after I began looking I found Malinda's grave closeby to the Rose's Creek cemetery where many other Rose family members are buried at just down the road, even walking distance from the old coal mine town of Packard, KY but Lark's grave has really been a challenge to find.
I have spent alot of time and effort in trying to locate his grave, I've even walked all over the property where this old Bennett cemetery was once located at but I have never found any graves & neither has the current landowner though just as I they to know that there once was a cemetery there.
I have heard many similar stories about what happened to the cemetery and why such as the stones were thrown in a pond, they were plowed over & covered up, a cement foundation was placed over part of the cemetery, corn has been planted several times in the field, but I try to rely only on the facts so honestly I am not completely sure what exactly did happen as I have talked to people who have lived on Harpes Creek their entire lives and they do remember seeing this cemetery but now today there is nothing there however I am distant related to the current landowner who tells me I have permission to search the property for the graves anytime I want to so I will continue to look for his grave and the many other 50-60 people that were once buried here according to the notes of Johnny Cox, Cornelius, Leonard Faulkner & many others that have taken the time to help with their knowledge of this cemetery.
If by chance there is anyone who can add any data, pics, info, etc. do please let me know and I will gladly pay for the costs to have copies made so please contact me ASAP.
Supposedly, Lark's grave stone did not have any dates on it.... it just said "Father of Frank and Evan" which is two of his sons that he had with Nancy Peace/Bennett.
Sarah Rose Lawson wife of Hutson Lawson is his daughter.
Talitha Rose Lawson wife of Andrew Lawson is his daughter.
Martha Rose Buhl Bruce is also his daughter with Nancy Bennett. Martha was first married to John Buhl and after she was widowed she married John Bruce.
- Delila Rose Jones wife of Wiley Jones is his daughter.
