Piece 1398: Monthly Meeting of Cheshire, formerly Morley (1654-1776), Frame 29</ref><ref>Society of Friends' Registers, Notes and Certificatesof Births, Marriages and Burials. Records of the General Register Office, Government Social Survey Department, and Office of Population Censuses and Surveys, RG 6. The National Archives, Kew, Richmond, Surrey,England. Piece 1035: Quarterly Meeting of Cheshire and Staffordshire:Cheshire (1631-1799), Frame 22</ref> He is the son of Edward Pearson and Sarah Burgess. Sarah's name is spelled Burgis on all English records of the time. His arrival date is generally thought to be 1687 however a ships register which includes him has not been located. His father Edward was notlisted on the ship Endeavor which carried his uncles Thomas and John in 1683. On 4 Jul 1705, Lawrence and Ann Cooper were given permission by the Falls Meeting to proceed in marriage.
