Mother (Francis Florine Ready Farmer Peacock) was a Ready, then married Dad, they divorced and she married Clinton Russell Peacock. Mother was born right off the old Headland Hwy. in Dothan, AL. on Feb.11, 1917. She died Nov. 16, 1997. She and Dad were divorced July 14, 1945. I have the original divorce decree which was in Russell County, Alabama (Phenix City, AL). Don't know if you have the name of the Farmer Brothers and Sisters or not, but they are John Jefferson(Jeff), Willie(Athol's Dad), Avlon A., Robert Lee(Bob), Alexander Mills(Alex), Francis Emory. The girls were Annie and Mollie Farmer. Athol's sisters were Gertrude who married a Lee, Cecil who married Walter Hamm, Rosie who married Carl Monk then divorced him and married Harry Hoy, Estelle married Wesley Smith.

Farmer, a resident of the Mississippi State
Veterans Home, Collins, Mississippi, a native of
Headland, died late Wednesday morning,
December 24, 2008, in the V.A. Medical Center
in Jackson, Mississippi. He was 92.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Wednesday, January 7, 2008,
in the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Cemetery, near Headland, Alabama,
with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in
charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:00
until 9:45 A. M. Wednesday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to
Veteran’s Outreach, 15 Pritchett Drive, Collins, MS 39428.
Mr. Farmer was born February 16, 1916 in Headland, Alabama, son of the
late Athol A. Farmer and Bama Bell Parker Farmer. He formerly lived in
Miami, FL., Dothan, AL. and DeFuniak Springs, FL. Mr. Farmer was
self-employed for many years as a residential building contractor. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte S. Farmer, a daughter, Bama Gail
Eagle, two sisters, Blondell Farmer Douglas and Ruby Farmer Douglas, a
great-grandson, Ethan Porter and a niece, Bama Jo Horne.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Jan Omley and husband, George
Omley, Brandon, MS.; Sarah K. Smith, Jacksonville, FL.; Glenda Peters and
husband, Lee Peters, Jacksonville, FL.; a son, Lawrence Ray Farmer and
wife, Joyce Farmer, Yulee, FL.; a special sister, Ethel Parker Raley, Dothan;
fifteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews.
