Lazette Maria Worden (Miller)
Find A Grave Memorial ID # 21068154
Mrs. Worden, nee Lazette Miller, died in her 70th year. The daughter of Judge Elijah Miller and his wife Hannah (nee Foote) of Auburn, NY, she was the widow of Alvah Worden of Canandaigua, a lawyer who had served several terms in the NY State Legislature. Mrs. Worden was also the sister-in-law of the celebrated American statesman William H. Seward, who'd married her sister Frances in 1824.
Having lost their mother in early childhood, the sisters developed a close relationship which continued throughout their lives. Predeceased by her husband in 1856, Mrs. Worden also survived Mrs. Seward and former Secretary of State Seward, who died in 1865 and 1872 respectively. She was buried next to her beloved sister after her own passing ten years later.
