Faulkner and Alsip do not list her. Wulfeck's Marriages of some Virginia Residents 1607-1800, 975.503 W961m, Vol. I, p.88, shows Leah Gatlift marrying Toney. Wm. Toney and Leah, his wife, were suing in Greenbrier County Court on 25 June 1787. Greenbrier County (West) Virginia Records, supra, v.1, p.177. Prior to her marriage she had property of her own, as she appears as Leah Gatlif on a Greenbrier tax list for 1782; she had 4 horses and 5 cows. Greenbrier County (West) Virginia Records, supra, v.2, p.19.
