LEE R. NEWTON
Well Known Stafford County Man Passes Away Here Thursday Night
Mr. Lee R, Newton, well known citizen of Stafford county, died at the Mary Washington Hospital Thursday night at 8:45 o'clock from chronic stomach trouble with which he had been suffering for years. He was brought to the hospital for an operation about two weeks ago.
Mr. Newton was 57 years old and was a son of the late George Newton. He was a well known fisherman on the Potomac river and was a familiar figure to many in this city, well known and highly respected.
Mr. Newton was twice married and is survived by his second wife, Mrs. Ida Newton, and seven children, Joseph, Roy, Theodore and James Newton; three daughters, Mrs. Amie Rose, Mrs. Blanche Sullivan, and Mrs. Manie Robinson, all of Stafford. He also is survived by four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Joseph Green, Mrs. L. M. Jett, Mrs. E. T. Jett, Mrs. James Chilton; Messrs. A. B. Newton and Alonzo Newton, all of Stafford.
Funeral services will be held from the home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Interment will be made in the family lot.
