Leland Leonard Clawson, age 57 of Yale, Oklahoma passed away Saturday morning, July 25, 2009 at his daughter's home in Bristow, Oklahoma. His services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Oilton, Oklahoma and will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Underwood Cemetery at Yale, Oklahoma. Visitation for Mr. Clawson will be held from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Oilton, Oklahoma with Reverend Tim Gillespie officiating.

Mr. Clawson was born on January 24, 1952 in Yale, Oklahoma the son of Abraham James and Vasca (Comer) Clawson. He grew up in Oilton and graduated from Oilton High School in 1970. He was united in marriage to Clarissa Turner on July 9, 1971 in Yale. Following his marriage they lived in Oklahoma City for 2 years, lived south of Drumright for 18 years and then to south of Yale where he has lived for the past 10 years. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Drumright and a member of local 592 Boiler Makers Union of Tulsa. He was a retired Boiler Maker Supervisor for local 592. He enjoyed Chuck Wagon racing, putting on celebrations where he was the life of the party, horses and spending time with his family.

Leland is survived by his wife Clarissa of the home; four daughters, Suann Harness and husband Heath of Bristow, Becky Geyer and husband Darrin of Drumright, Lisa Geyer and husband Greg of Bristow, Kay Prather and husband Brandon of Yale; nine brothers and sisters, Patty Turner of Oilton, Jimmy Clawson and wife Sharon of Oilton, Mary Deeds and husband Kenneth of Oilton, Katheryne Randolph and husband Raymond of Mannford, Jack Clawson and wife Anna of Oilton, Wilma Jones and husband Herman of Oilton, Shirley Brown and husband Phil of Tulsa, John Clawson and wife Gudonna of Chewy, Okla., Billy Clawson and wife Patty Lynn of Oilton, grandchildren Heather Morgan, Kaylea and Ashley Harness, Preston, Dillon, Holdin and Brandin Geyer, Mariana, Shonna, Dionna, Tye and Julija Geyer, Coby, Cornelius, Caymon, and Kaybra Prather, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albraham James and Vasca Clawson, a son, Edward Matthew Clawson, Maternal Grandparents, Walter and Olive Comer, Paternal Grandparents, Leland and Minnie Clawson, Grandson Grant and Garet Geyer and his father-in-law, Edward Turner.
