About Lena Ollie Bangerter
Lena Ollie "Mimi" Gamble Bangerter was born on October 31, 1906, in Trenton, Texas, to parents, Berton William Gamble (1875-1919) and Myrtle McClary Gamble (1881-1972). She was the fourth child of seven born to this couple: Minnie Ethel Gamble Van Alstine (1889-1983), Jewel Ora Gamble LaRue (1901-1974), Paschal Abraham Gamble (1903-1927), Lena Ollie Gamble Bangerter (1906-1997), Berton Elmer Gamble (1909-1972), Hubert Eugene Gamble (1913-1960), and Enid Juanita Gamble Belt (1916-1970).
As a child, Lena came to Oklahoma with her family in 1910 and grew up in Stafford and Clinton Oklahoma. She worked for a time as a practical nurse and also for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She married Adolph Oscar Bangerter (1902-1975) and lived for a short while in Lawton and then Oklahoma City. She is survived by one son, Donald Ross Bangerter, daughter-in-law, Patt, and four granddaughters, Terri Lynn, Cynthia Gail, Barbara Ann and Jennifer.
Mimi had a beautiful loving spirit and a true gift with children. She was a wonderful cook and storyteller and was adored by her granddaughters and neices who loved spending time with her and considered her a second mother.
