About Leni Schulhof
The death certificate of her daughter Roza listed Leni's maiden name as "Nerádí." This does not seem to be a common surname among Jews (or anyone), and may be a placeholder. (In Czech and Slovak, it apparently is a word that means something like "does not like".)
I suspect that Leni's real maiden name was "Blum", with a patronymic of "Lebovics" (meaning "child of Leb"):
- Roza's death certificate lists her parents as being located in "Bajonháza" (Bajánháza). In 1869, a David Schulhof lived in Bajánháza with his second wife and several children, including a son who was born in Csepely (Čepeľ) in 1848.
- In 1848, a David Schulhof lived in Csepely with his wife, "Lina Lebovics", and several children. Based on a review on JewishGen, most wives in the 1848 census have surnames in the form of patronymics.
- Roza's apparent sibling, Ignatz, identified his parents as David Schulhof and "Leny Blum"
