On 27 March 1942, Wilhelm Hollitscher writes that he heard that Leo Kann died, He liked him a lot. The relationship between Leo and and his brother Richard was very close. Leo was 10 years older and after the death of his father he took over parental role. He was self-educated and read daily in the original Homer, Plato, Horace, Ovid, Tacitus. He was in London in 1939 but emigrated in 1940 to USA with his family
