Feb 11 1970 Valley News Leonard O. Grant, 47, of Oswego RD 1, died Wednesday evening at a Utica Hospital two hours after being admitted. Mr.Grant was a life resident of the area. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 740th Tank Battalion in Germany. He was a foreman for Eichlea Construction Co. at the Alcan plant in Oswego. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. Mr. Grant was a member of the Lake City Lodge 127 and the Whango Grotto. He also was a member of the Steelworkers Union. Surviving are two sons, Norman Grant of Sterling and Gerald Grant; his mother, Mrs. Ruth O. Grant; four brothers, William and Byron of Fulton, Erwin of Rome and Stanley of Melrose, Mass., three sisters, Mrs. Carole Moore of Sylmar, Calif., Mrs. Dana Kimball of Fulton and Mrs. Shirley Drake of Trenton, N.J.; and two grandchildren. Services were conducted Sunday at the Foster Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald H. Turk, pastor of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Masonic services were at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
