Leoncia Duet

Leoncia Gisclair Duet, 85, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, died at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009.

Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

She is survived by two sons, Larson Duet and wife, Jean, and Leonce Duet; three daughters Diane Rousse and husband, Roland, Mary Ann Dufrene and husband, Ebry, and Anna Lafont and husband, Alan; one brother, Vinis Gisclair; three sisters, Rita Cheramie, Lovenia Eymard and Lorena Griffin; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Duet; her parents, Emelien and Caroline Plaisance Gisclair; nine brothers, Ebdon, Antoine, Emelien Jr., Norbert, Linton, Morgan, Leonce, Victor and Robertson Gisclair; and two sisters, Leonce Gaspard and Emelia Gisclair.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
