This document flatly stated that Catalina was the widow of her husband, Don Lope and the document again confirmed that Don Juan Ponce was their son. Lope Ponce de Leon was given the town of Utera by his father, Juan Ponce de Leon y Ayala by way of his last testament. By the way, the holdings in Utera were very valuable because the inheritance included the rents and houses and water rights. It seems that Beatriz and Ana, Juan Ponce de Leon's sisters were petitioning on behalf of their right to receive their share of the aforementioned inheritance. In addition to the above, Juan Ponce de Leon's uncle, Rodrigo Ponce de Leon gifted Juan Ponce de Leon rights to an inheritance within another province.
