Leslie E. Tollefson

Leslie E. "Les" Tollefson, of L'Anse and Skanee, MI. passed away at his residence on Huron Bay following a long illness.

He was born in L'Anse, MI on November 5, 1933, son of the late Leo and Tyyne (Rivers) Tollefson. Les graduated from L'Anse High School in 1951.

He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

On June 29, 1957 he married the former Betty Hill in Pelkie, MI.

Les was employed as a foreman at the Celotex Corporation.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and the L'Anse American Legion Post 144. Les loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and will be remembered for his wit and sense of humor.

Mr. Tollefson was survived by his loving wife, Betty, children, Calvin (Mary) Tollefson of Seymour, WI., Steven Tollefson of L'Anse, MI., Robert (Lisa) Tollefson of DePere, WI. and Bryan (Kathy) Tollefson of Kingsford, MI., grandchildren, Amber, Jill, Alix, Dylan, Kimberly, Bradley, Adam, Tom, Jena, Jay, and Melissa, brothers, Raymond (Margaret) Tollefson of Indian River, MI., and Marvin (Helen) Tollefson of Crystal Falls, MI., sisters, Leona Schultz of Menasha, WI., Bernice Nord of Grand Island, Phyllis (Sig) Olson of Marquette, and Rena (Gary) Boucher of Dunedin, FL. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survived.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Edna Nord.

Funeral: Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse, with Judy Mattson officiating. Family members honored him as casket bearers. Interment took place in the Evergreen Cemetery, L'Anse. Baraga County Area Veterans, under the direction of the Baraga American Legion Post 444 conducted military honors.
