Lewis Ellzey's grandfather Captain Lewis Ellzey married first Elizabeth Travers. He married second Mary (Unknown) Griffin widow of Walter Griffin. One source mentions the possibility her maiden name might have been "de Butts"? Lewis Ellzey's father John may be the son of Captain Lewis Ellzey and Mary.
