About Lieut. Colonel Arthur Oldham
Lieut. Col. Arthur Oldham 1844- 1901
Served on the Bhutan War, of 1864 - 65 with the 12th Khekati-i-Ghilzie Regiment. Was present at the capture of stockades in the Goorgaon Pass and at the recapture of Dewangiri. For this he received a medal and clasp. He also served with the same regiment through the Afghan War of 1878-79 and the Burmese War of 1886-87 receiving a medal and clasp. source - British newspapers 1901 on announcement of his death, see images

Arthur Oldham was born on 25 February 1844 at Tunbridge Wells, Kent. He was the son of Joseph Oldham and Ellen Haslope. Arthur was recorded in the census of 30 March 1851 living in Oakfield, Chudleigh, Devon.
