Served during the Civil War with the Union Army with Co. A, 31st Illinois Infantry. Enlisted on August 15, 1861. Mustered in as a 1st Lieutenant on September 18, 1861 in Cairo, IL. Died at home on April 18, 1862 from wounds received on February 15, 1862 at Ft. Donelson, Tennessee.
