About Lieutenant Allen T. Brown
Stepson of General of the Army (5 Stars) George Catlett Marshall, Chief of Staff, US Secretary of State, US Secretary of Defense and awarded Noble Peace Peace Prize in 1953.
Allen Tupper-Brown entered the United States Army in 1943 from New York. After graduating from the Officer Candidate School, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant (01) and was assigned to the 13th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division.
On 29 May 1944,while leading his unit near Velletri, Italy, and standing up in the turret of his tank for observing the front through his field glasses, Second Lieutenant Allen Tupper-Brown was shot and killed in action by a German sniper
For his military service, Second Lieutenant Allen Tupper-Brown was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and the French Croix de Guerre with palm.
Second Lieutenant Allen Tupper-Brown is buried in the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial, Nettuno, Citta Metropolitana Roma Capitale, Lazio, Italy, PLOT H, ROW 4 Grave 1.
US Army Lieutenant Allen Tupper Brown was killed by a German sniper in Italy on May 29, 1944. He was the step-son of General of the Army George C. Marshall.
