Drowned when serving with HMS Lobster in operations in North Russia aged 32 - body not recovered and recorded on Chatham Naval Memorial, born Omapere Hokianga, Reported in Wanganui Herald 3/8/1915 as serving in the government steamer HINEMOA as an acting Second Officer who resigned to join the NZEF reinforcements - he joined Wellington Regiment 1917, and took discharge from NZEF 15/1/1918 and joined the RNR in Britain. Reported as a Sub-Lieutenant serving in HMS CELTIC PRIDE in September 1918 based at Malta
