About Lieutenant Robert Parrot Warren
Find A Grave Memorial
Robert's sister Emily quoted the account of Robert's entry into service during the Civil War on page 447 of the Journal of the Reverend Silas Constant. She stated that it was from the Army and Navy Journal of 2 February, 1876. It says that he entered service in 1861 in his brother's (General Gouverneur Kemble Warren's) camp without being mustered into service. Most likely because he had just turned 15. By 1862 he served as a private in the 7th Regiment, New York. He was promoted up to Brevet Major by the time he mustered out on 16 July 1865. After the war he reentered the service as a second lieutenant in 1867 and was first lieutenant when he died in 1876.
