Per Mitchell J. Hunt notes (pages 3-4): "Samuel Hunt, b. 1640 at Duxbury (he testified at age 17 in court on 22 Dec. 1657 with his brother John), inherited his father's property on Houndsditch, was administrator of the estate of his presumed brother Thomas on 6 March 1676/7, died in 1707, probate 22 July 1707. He was a Surveyor of Highways in 1663; on a jury for laying out a footway in 1665; elected constable replacing his brother Edward in 1667; executor of the estate of his presumed brother Thomas who was killed by Indians at Rehobeth 26 March 1676; a Lt. in the Military Company in 1681; on a jury to lay out a road from Marshfield in 1684; hired part of the Commons Meadow in 1690; sold in 1704 property in Plymouth which he inherited from his father-in-law James Glass; died in 1707; will probated 22 July 1707."
