About Lilian Militia Bray Pankhurst
In 1901 Lillie Bray (aged 24 years) joined the C M Mission where she met Ernest John Pankhurst (just turned 21 years of age) at Centenary Hall, Princes Street where Ernest taught Sunday School.
Soon after this Lillie later changed her surname from her step-father's name Bray to her biological father's name of Hylton.
Lillie married Ernie on December 30th, 1903 moving to Croydon with her new husband, where Hylton John and Lilian Alice were born.
They moved home many times after this, with twins Alfred Joseph and Allan Edward born at Guildford, Ernest Lawrence born at Tamworth, and Keith Oswald born at West Ryde. Mervyn Aldwyn was born where?
In 1920 they moved into a cottage at 9 Neringbah Avenue, Wahroonga. They raised six sons and one daughter.
