[Hugo BECK became a Hungarian Baron 28 Dec. 1895, see Barcsay-Amant, 238/XXVIII.] She was a playwright in Budapest (Inner City Theatre), and cotinued in the New York with "The Love Duel" at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (88 performances, April-July 1929) and "Tonight or Never" at the Belasco Theatre (232 performances, through June 1930-June 1931) "Tonight or Never" was released as a movie in 1931. She also wrote "My Kingdom for a Cook" (1943) and "Night of Love" (1941). She resumed her maiden name of HATVANY, continuing to use Lili HATVANY all through her years in Hollywood.
