Lois Virginia Brant

Lois Virginia Brant died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at Community Hospital in McCook, Neb., at the age of 88.

She was born Nov, 20, 1919, at Stratton, Neb., the daughter of the late Samuel Clayton and Eva Mae (Parrot) Cobb. She received her elementary education at Stratton, until the family moved to McCook where she continued her education.

On Dec. 20, 1938, Lois married James Maurice Brant and they spent their married life in McCook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, one son, James Clayton "Butch" Brant in 1995 and one sister, Lou Balius.

Lois is survived by two daughters, Barbara Marquardt of McCook and Sherry Vap and husband, Jerry of McCook; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one sister, Viola Pritchett of McCook; and relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
