Lois Ann Johnson

In the 1940 U.S. Federal Census for Marion, Grant, Indiana, Robert Paul Johnson, 23, was living with his wife Martha Elizabeth Fenstermaker Johnson, 22, and their 2 year old son, David Gerald Johnson. Robert was working as a barber in a barber shop and for the 52 weeks he worked at that profession for 57 hours per week during the year 1939, his his income was $1,150. They were renting their home located at 1607 Third Street for $20.00 per month. Both Robert and Martha had a 4-year high school education. They were all born in Indiana.

Robert and Martha's son, David Gerald Johnson, married Louis Ann Stevens on August 18, 1957. She was born November 26, 1937, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of Alfred and Silvia Myers Stevens. Sadly, Robert Paul Johnson passed away at the relatively young age of 64 years old in 1981. His wife, Martha, lived nearly another 30 years and passed away April 20, 2010. They were both buried in the Estates of Serenity Cemetery in Marion, Grant county, Indiana.

David and Lois Ann Stevens Johnson had four children, three sons, Michael, Steven and Brian, and a daughter, Lynn. Lois, passed away January 7, 2014, in Marion, Indiana. Following is her obituary from Ancestry.com:

Lois Ann Johnson, age 76, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in her home. Lois was born November 26, 1937, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late Alfred and Silva (Myers) Stevens. She married David Johnson on August 18, 1957, and he survives. Lois was a homemaker and a member of a Bridge club. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: husband, David G. Johnson of Marion, Indiana; son, Michael Johnson (Juanita) of Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter, Lynn Johnson of Converse, Indiana, son, Steven Johnson (Paul Luber) of Redmond, Washington, son, Brian Johnson of Marion, Indiana; sister, Lucille Roberts of Marion, Indiana; grandchildren, Justin, Khala, Alyssa, Lexie, Trista & Riley; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana, with Reverend Jim Miller officiating.
