Lawrence and Mary migrated from Northumberland Co., Pa.
The Reformed Church records held in the archives of the Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society at the Lancaster Theological seminary in Lancaster, Pa. and transcribed by William J. Hinke show the Baptism on April 10, 1784 of Lorentz Bachmann, born November 17,1883, son of Paul and Margaretha (Hantz) Bachmann and sponsored by Lorentz Bachmann and Susanna. This baptism is shown in the records books of Lowhill Reformed Church, near the town of New Tripoli in modern day Lehigh County, Pa. Arcvive #MKZ/L97.
In the War of 1812, Lawrence served as a private under the command of Captain Valentine Haas in a Regiment of the Pennsylvania Militia commanded by Colonel Weirick. He served from Sept. 24, 1814 to Dec 2, 1814 and was discharged at Marcus Hook, Pa. His Thombstone reads 85y 1m 14d this is incorrect, it should read 83y 1m 14d. Lawrence was a carpenter by trade and also did farming to some extent.
