He married Joan Allen three months later; he was 22 years old at the time. One year later, he and Joan had a son. He divorced Joan in May of 1931, in Paris, after 11 years of marriage. On Tuesday, October 25, 1932, he married Lorna Mackay at Ingleside, the Stockbridge, Massachusetts, summer estate of her mother and stepfather, Mrs. and Mrs. Owen Johnson...Lorna Mackay, born on July 16, 1911, was the daughter of Hugh Mackay, an artist, and Gertrude (Bovee) Mackay Johnson."
