Louis Edelman

We are unsure exactly how Louis is related to the existing Edelman tree. We speculate it's as a brother to Charles, Pinchas and Shraga, but we're working on finding out.

According to the obituary archives of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (in the Missouri Historical Society), Louis died on 2/26/1944 and received a burial permit on 2/29/44. I found this information thanks to Jack Edelman's recollection that Louis died "before the end of WWII."

According to Jack Edelman, Louis was a cabinet maker who worked on the large estate homes along Lindel Blvd. in St. Louis about the time of the 1904 World's Fair. But because he was a religious man and that craft required him to work on Shabbat, he opted to take a job delivering bread instead.
