Died at the age of 94. By David Jackson. When Louis Ely was born in Laizuva in 1889, his father Myer Joel had left several months previously to try and find a better life for his family elsewhere. As we know he eventually came to Ireland where several friends and some relations had previously settled. However, when Louis Ely was born, Myer was in Antwerp and it would be many more months before he arrived in Ireland and was in a position to send for his wife and children.
