Louis of Luxembourg; (died 1443). Bishop of Therouanne 1415-1436, Archbishop of Rouen, 1436, Bishop of Ely 1437, Elevated to Cardina 18 December 1439 by Pope Eugenius IV at request of English King Henry VI
Chancellor of the Lancastrian council in Normandy where he was elected bishop and the leading native administrator/collaborator with the Lancastrian regime in France.
In September 1422 Louis, as the English Chancellor in France, was named along with with Lancastrian, Richard, Duke of York to a commission to attempt to negotiate a treaty with France and was empowered to select a suitable place for a meeting.
Louis visited England in 1437 and became an English subject (citizen). Henry VI granted him the bishopric of Ely in 1437 / 38
The Hundred Year's War would not unofficially end until ten years after Louis' death as result of the Battle of Castellon (1453)
