About Louisa Drusilla Bunker
Obituary, Deseret News, 21 August 1914, p. 13: "Mrs. Putnam Dead.
Woodruff, August 19, Louisa D. Putnam, wife of Artemus (sic) W. Putnam, died at her home here, Sunday, August 16, of old age, being in her 86th year. The funeral was held from the ward meeting house and was conducted by Bishop T. J. Tingey. Interment was in the city cemetery.
She was the mother of 5 children, 3 of whom died in infancy. The 2 surviving are Savannah C. Putnam of this city and Laura Walton of Logan, Utah. The speakers at the funeral were Wesley K. Walton, President, John M. Baxter, Geo. A. Neville and Peter McKinnon.
Mrs. Putnam was born in Oxford, Maine, 7 June 1828, to Samuel Bunker and Charlotte Howe. Became member of Church, 1849. She came to Bountiful in 1869, where she resided for 3 years, and in 1871, came to Woodruff where she has lived since.
Her home in Maine was always open to the elders, and she has been very highly commended for her devotion in entertaining them."
Extract by Cleo Holmstead Otis, who noted that originals (obituaries of Artemus Walton Putnam and Louisa Drusilla Bunker) were too faint to have photocopied (C2V4, Beryl Putnam Duffin Archives).
