Obituary (Translated by Martha Witmer 1988)
Mrs. Louise Ganz, nie Kuderli, was born June 29, 1835 in Schweamendinger Canton Zurich, Switzerland. The early years were spent in Bulach, the same Canton, where her parents moved soon after her birth. Here she received her early education. In the year of 1857 she came to America, where she first came to LaCross County, and where she married Kasper Ganz. After staying with her brother-in-law a short time, Henry Utzinger, in Bangor, they came to Buffalo county and bought a farm in Waumandee, and lived there for about 25 years. On June 4, 1875, she lost her husband thru death........In the year 1888 she left the farm, and lived by herself several years, but later lived with her children changing from place to place.

....She lost two children to the grave. It was her daughter Mrs. Luise Schmitz and Lydia. Also, a step son, Arnold lost his life in the service of his country.... In the year 1902 she had her wish fulfilled that she would return to her beautiful Switzerland for a visit.......She died silently March 15 (1913) six o'clock in the morning and entered eternal life. (influenza and bronchitis)

She leaves 3 sons, Edwin of Alma, Casper of Arcadia and Adolf of Alma; 2 daughters Mrs. Alvina Farner of Gilmanton and Mrs. Arnoldine Mattausch of Lincoln, also a step-son Alfred of Fountain City and 2 step-daughters Mrs. nanetta Doenier of Arcadia, and Mrs. Paulina Farner of Waumandee. Two brothers, Carl Kuderli of Winona and Ferdinand Kuderli, in Warblingen near Stuttgart, Wurtenberg, also 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. .....Her life's journey had ended, her goal attended, the longed-for peace and sweet rest is her parcel and she slumbers on the side of her loved ones.....She loved the world with it so-people, righteousness and truth during trial and sorrow. ....She wasan unselfish, giving, loving spouse, and mother, a true friend and gracious entertainer. She followed the teaching of the great master--. Where she for so long pursued her daily duties with love and service, she now rests from her labors of this life. May the earth be light to her now.
